With Barbara's initial background in the financial industry, she served as assistant treasurer and bank operations manager for a New York-based international bank before relocating to Orlando in 1987. She served as operations manager at a major Orlando Bank from 1988 to 1993, during which time she earned her Florida mortgage broker license and her Florida real estate license. A long-time resident of the Lake Nona area, Barbara is a very diverse and active REALTOR® on the Premier Sotheby's International Realty team covering Central Florida. Barbara's diverse background allows her to touch and expand her abilities for any real estate needs. She brings tremendous experience and has contacts locally, nationally, and internationally through networking, trade missions, personal travel, and making business connections. She has a unique skill set, allowing her to be successful on many levels. Barbara commits to excellence and personal service in the community. She worked on projects with county commissioners, getting the first set of covered bus stops and streetlights installed along a major road in Orlando. She volunteers to help the homeless shelter and contributes monthly to Share-A-Meal for the Ronald McDonald House. Barbara puts herself out there as a mentor for new associates, starting, and is always willing to share her knowledge with others. A member of the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida Board since 1994, Barbara served as treasurer of that organization and as founding treasurer of the Guyanese American Cultural Association of Central Florida. She was appointed to the board of directors of the Orange County Minority Women Business Enterprise from 1999 to 2002 and the Orange County Housing Finance Authority from 2003 to 2013, where she served as Chairman from 2009 to 2011. She served on the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce and founder of Nona Business Alliance. Barbara is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and the Orlando Regional Real Estate Association. Barbara served on several committees at the ORRA, Barbara is currently on the Global Operations Council at ORRA, where she can stay globally involved and uses her knowledge to serve the members of the public and her peers, respectfully, professionally, and ethically. Barbara loves to spend time with her relatives, and for over 30 years, it has been a yearly priority for them to travel together.
